White sand, turquoise water, pink rocks: in Roscoff the sea changes with every tide. Here are the beaches we love, and the ones we recommend to our guests depending on what they are looking for.
Roc'h Kroum, the town beach
West of the centre, next to the thalassotherapy spa, Roc'h Kroum beach is the easiest place for a swim without taking the car. Ideal for families, it is also lovely for long walks at low tide. Stay with your feet in the sand at Azea, with its private gate onto the beach, or a few steps away at Flic en Flac.
Saint-Luc and the coves of the west coast
Follow the coastal path south and you will find Saint-Luc beach and a series of small coves between the rocks. Wilder and quieter, they are perfect for reading in peace or a sunset picnic.
Traon Erc'h, facing the Bay of Morlaix
To the east, Traon Erc'h beach looks out to Callot Island and the Bay of Morlaix. Sheltered, it is very pleasant on days with a westerly wind. Our villas Grande Terre, Petite Terre, Marie Galante and Sainte Lucie stand just above it, with sea views.
The Grande Grève, for long walks
Further south, the Grande Grève uncovers a huge expanse at low tide: a playground for children, shellfish gatherers and walkers. La Désirade and La Romance are close by.
Our tips for enjoying the beaches
Always check the tide times: in Roscoff the sea goes out a long way and comes back quickly, especially during spring tides. For swimming, choose high tide. For shellfish gathering, check the authorised sizes and areas. And keep a jumper in your bag: even in summer, the sea breeze cools the evening quickly.
